    Adding all-conditions versatility to the best all-around mountain show we offer, the Rapid GTX offers nearly unlimited possibilities. This hybrid shoe is equally adept at ticking off trail miles, boulder hopping and scrambling moderate slabs. The all-synthetic upper is lightweight and protective, and is backed by a GORE-TEX® Invisible Fit lining for waterproof protection. The dual-density EVA midsole delivers a ride more akin to a trail running shoe, but we have added a TPU arch insert for torsion control, and our Dynamic Protection System insert in the forefoot for increased protection, propulsion and edging capability. The Vibram® outsole features high-friction Megagrip rubber, and an edging zone under the big toe for unbeatable friction and traction. Snow underfoot? Sloppy trails/ No problem - the Rapid GTX is the perfect choice for moving fast over mixed mountain terrain in variable conditions.

    Technologies

    GORE-TEX® membrane contains over 9 billion microscopic pores which are approximately 20,000 time smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times bigger than a molecule of moisture vapor. So while water in it's liquid state can't penetrate the GORE-TEX membrane, the boot still remains breathable.

    Ortholite is an open-cell PU foam with great resistance to compression set (less than 5% compression set). The open cell PU structure provides exceptional breathability, and the formulation also includes 5% recycled rubber content as well, providing enhanced rebound while lowering the impact on the planet at the same time.

    All SCARPA non-plastic footwear and our Alien 3.0 uses European sizing.

    • 1 Euro whole size = 6.6 mm = 0.26 inches
    • 1 US whole size = 8.4 mm = 0.33 inches
    • The 30 Euro sizes below cover the same size range as 24 US sizes
    • Euro sizes provide a better, more precise fit for your intended use
    • For mountaineering boots, upsize (1/2+ sizes) depending on desired fit.
